Train, Plane or Rollerblade?
As part of plans to go global it is difficult to avoid air travel but we keep it to a minimum. If we can hop on a train or Eurostar we do. The majority of our team walk or use public transport to commute and one of our developer's even skates in keeping him fit as well as environmentally friendly.
The Green Team focusing on the little things
By turning our computers off at night a company our size can stop 1,381 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) being released out to the atmosphere. At Broadbean we shudder at the thought of careless waste and do everything we can to ensure that our Bean is green. It's become second nature to the team to turn off computers at night and recycle any paper and plastic. When we upgrade our computers we send the old machines to a charity that supplies them to school children in Africa.
The home of Bean HQ, Canary Wharf, looks beautiful when lit up at night but we choose to turn our lights off when we go home. After all, beauty is only skin deep.
